Measurement prototype for fast estimation of building wall thermal resistance under controlled and natural environmental conditions

Most of the methods for in situ measurement thermal resistance building walls implement passive approaches requiring long times and specific environmental conditions. In literature, different active have been studied but they remain limited terms applications do not systematically lead to short identification times. This article that follows a previous numerical benchmark study presents new prototype using lamp box which heats up one surfaces (typically interior surface) wall be characterized. The use an aluminum plate placed contact with face subjected excitation enables homogenization heat flux transmitted wall. Three inverse procedures are implemented estimate originality this work comes from exhaustive campaign. On hand, four types among most common France, i.e. Internal Insulation Wall, External Wall Wood Frame specially built Single Concrete located real building, were investigated. other climatic chambers made it possible generate many conditions (constant, variable natural). results highlight possibilities offered by experimental device estimating few hours (6 10 h) or its first layers, as well limits depending on type Some operational recommendations also provided: avoiding bridges, solar protection case strong sunlight exterior side location Wall.
